Commission Would Have Studied Issues Effecting Women, Like Health, Economics, And Family Care:  No Cost To State

The House of Representatives voted today against SB 119, a bill that would have created a task force to study issues relevant to women (and often not generally given adequate attention by the public).

Issues such as healthcare:  is there equitable and adequate funding to study the diseases women tend to get more than men, or get exclusively?  Lupus, Fibromyalgia, Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome, etc?

Issues such as economics: Why are women generally better students in secondary school, but make less money in their jobs and are more likely to be terminated than men?

Issues like family care:  Are there enough resources devoted to help single moms who are under qualified for good jobs and therefore balancing, minimum wage jobs, family care, and perhaps their own attempts at job training?

This was the vote on the bill.  Please email your representatives: show your disapproval if they voted NO, or thank them for it if they voted YES!
