Arkansas’s so-called “Social Media Safety Act” stifles freedom of expression online by requiring users to verify their ages and, if under 18, obtaining explicit parental consent before using social media. 

A federal district court judge has struck down and permanently enjoined an Arkansas law that aimed to ban gender-affirming care for transgender youth, finding the law violates the Constitutional rights of transgender youth, their parents, and their medical providers.

Lawsuit Seeks to Declare Key Sections of Act 372 Unconstitutional

Arkansas infamously passed the first law in the nation to try to ban gender-affirming care for trans youth in 2021. After hearing extensive evidence presented by four transgender youth and their families challenging Arkansas’ HB1570, the courts blocked that ban as unconstitutional.
