LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The ACLU of Arkansas issued the following statement regarding the proposed 24-hour curfew in Helena-West Helena:
"Placing law-abiding people under 24-hour house arrest treats Helena-West Helena residents like criminals and tramples their constitutional rights,” said ACLU of Arkansas interim executive director and legal director Holly Dickson. “The city should reject this extreme and counterproductive measure and pursue more effective approaches to reducing crime."
