Summary

Join the ACLU of Arkansas for a special book signing with Deborah N. Archer, ACLU National Board Chair and author of Dividing Lines: How Transportation Infrastructure Reinforces Racial Inequality. In Dividing Lines, Archer examines how highways and other transportation infrastructure have shaped American communities — and how decisions about where roads are built, who is displaced, and which neighborhoods are connected or divided have reinforced racial and economic inequality for generations. Drawing connections between our physical landscape and the ongoing fight for civil rights,

Dividing Lines asks us to look differently at the roads, highways, and neighborhoods we encounter every day.

Archer is a nationally recognized civil rights lawyer, scholar, and advocate. In addition to serving as President of the ACLU National Board, she is a professor at NYU School of Law and directs the Center on Race, Inequality, and the Law. Her work focuses on racial justice, civil rights, and the ways public policy and infrastructure shape opportunity and belonging in American life.

Come meet Deborah, learn more about Dividing Lines, and have your copy signed.
